SBSIs devoted 60 hours on swachhata this summer
Against the backdrop of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2019 announced by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti in May 2019, a total of 1502 students from the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu enrolled in the programme, committing to work for 60 hours on sanitation related matters in the villages of the district.
On 11th April, 2019, a group of enthusiastic youth from the Revolutionary Youth Club pledged to turn their society into the first plastic free society of Ramgarh district in Jharkhand. Thereafter, within the duration of one month, the youth (mostly students from age group of 15 to 25 years) collected every single-use plastic from public places such as playgrounds, markets, and main roads, among others.

The Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh in Assam, Mr. Pallav Gopal Jha has taken a bold initiative to set up vending machines and incinerators in 23 schools – both girls and co-ed education schools of the district, in collaboration with UNICEF and ONGC.
