Zero Waste Plan - the need of the hour
A Zero Waste Plan focuses on immediate responses to dealing with littering, indiscriminate dumping, waste burning etc., contributing to reduction in air pollution, water pollution and in the waste load going for dumping. It takes care of both bio-degradable and non-biodegradable waste, leaving little waste for the landfills.
Having constructed 293 community sanitary complexes (CSCs) over the last 2-3 years, the district administration of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra is ensuring that the facilities are regularly used and maintained by the village communities.
To engage migrant workers that have returned from other States to Sitamarhi District in Bihar, handwashing campaigns have been held, the activity contributing to making people aware of the proper techniques of handwashing to protect themselves from the spread of coronavirus infection.
