Andhra Pradesh constructs 9000 IHHLs during the lockdown
Not letting the COVID-19 lockdown hamper their work, the coastal State of Andhra Pradesh has constructed as many as 9000 individual household latrines (IHHLs) between March and May 2020. Care was taken to ensure that all safety protocols were followed by masons and workers.
Having constructed 293 community sanitary complexes (CSCs) over the last 2-3 years, the district administration of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra is ensuring that the facilities are regularly used and maintained by the village communities.
To engage migrant workers that have returned from other States to Sitamarhi District in Bihar, handwashing campaigns have been held, the activity contributing to making people aware of the proper techniques of handwashing to protect themselves from the spread of coronavirus infection.
