3,742 CSCs slated for Azamgarh
In its second phase, Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G) is continuing with the construction of at least one community sanitary complex (CSC) in every Gram Panchayat (GP) across the country, the agenda being to ensure that no one is left behind. This means that every individual in the rural areas regardless of caste or class has access to safe sanitation. In keeping with this, the district administration of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh is planning to construct as many as 3,724 CSCs across all its GPs.
Having constructed 293 community sanitary complexes (CSCs) over the last 2-3 years, the district administration of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra is ensuring that the facilities are regularly used and maintained by the village communities.
To engage migrant workers that have returned from other States to Sitamarhi District in Bihar, handwashing campaigns have been held, the activity contributing to making people aware of the proper techniques of handwashing to protect themselves from the spread of coronavirus infection.
